San Pantaleo, famous as the village of artists, is a vibrant rural community which is both more tranquil than Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo during the high season and more lively during the rest of the year. It has a local post office, a supermercato, and a bank as well as restaurants and small cafes arranged around the picturesque piazza which is host to a market every Tuesday morning, along with other events such as a classical dance festival every summer.

Situated less than three miles from the sea San Pantaleo gives prime access to Costa Smeraldas beaches. You can walk along the coastline for hours exploring the different beaches, ranging from the more popular like the Rena Bianca, famous for its white sand, to the more secluded and wild parts of the shoreline. The granite formations in the San Pantaleo region, known as the Rocce Sarde, are of special note. Much of the nature of the area is protected and San Pantaleo is a popular starting point for nature walks into the surrounding hills, forest and meadows.
